  I've come here since I was born... now I have worked here for the past 7 years! Although I have some obvious bias, I'd like to think that even if I didn't grow up knowing/coming to G-town Peds, having the privilege of seeing both sides of a "doctor" visit has consistently reinforced my strong love for and trust in this place. Full-circle. I've been a patient and I also work here... each has helped me to form a more holistic appreciation for how hard work, top-of-the-line resources and physicians, up to date technology for charting with EMR (Electronic Medical Record's software) and efficient communication with patients & families are prioritized and valued (sign up for our Patient Portal!), and thus, how the best possible preventive and illness/injury care for your child is provided. G-town Peds cares about their patients and will take the time to assess and diagnose your child as accurately as possible. We're different from minute clinics because we know your child and their history. Really, if you're deciding between establishing long-term care with a PCP (Primary Care Physician) or frequenting Urgent Care clinics on-the-go, the choice is easy. Our society already fixates on wanting everything quick, and "right now!" Medicine doesn't work this way. It takes time and detailed attention. My advice would be not to compromise the thorough care that your primary care doc can provide just for ease and/or quickness that an Urgent Care clinic sells. Georgetown Pediatrics values giving the right diagnoses, specific to the patient's well -being and backed by recommendations from the AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics) to best serve your child(ren). An Urgent Care clinic simply cannot provide the same. Health care is best given when [we] know a child and their family's history. Being that our health can of course be unpredictable in nature, dependability and dedication (doctor's on call, 7-days-a-week hours, seeing patients after 5 o'clock PM same-day if need be) are strengths G-town Peds has in contrast to the unpredictability that comes with life as it relates to your child's health. Not to mention, the office is only closed SIX days a year- every major holiday- so someone's always available. To me, that's well worth the wait sometimes! :) I highly recommend Georgetown Pediatrics- where we have your child's best interest at heart. I'll forever cherish the relationships, personal growth, and career experience I've gained by growing up as a patient here as well as working for patients here.
